World's best bars and Hawthorne Coffee

About Emporium Eatery and Bar - A "World's Best Bar" & three times winner of the Hawke's Bay Hospitality "Best Establishment" award.

While Art Deco Masonic Hotel – in its various forms – and the essence of this special restaurant and meeting place has been around since 1861, Emporium Eatery and Bar itself opened in October 2012.

Designed by internationally renowned restaurant designer Tom Skyring, our place is at once elegant and opulent – all leather and wood, with a stunning marble bar and just the right amount of Art Deco. We’re pretty pleased with the blend of contemporary style with the unique heritage of this special city and historic building.

We pride ourselves on providing regulars and visitors to Hawke’s Bay a wonderfully friendly and particularly stylish central dining and drinking spot.
We also like to share the best of Hawke’s Bay with you when you visit Emporium. From the freshest fruit and the finest local wines to Havelock North’s Hawthorne Coffee (NZ’s most awarded roastery) and the tender meats and rich cheeses from this special region.

With a diverse, contemporary menu to suit the time of day, an extensive beverage list and Hawke’s Bay’s best cocktails it’s just the spot to gather friends, family or colleagues to enjoy the finest in Hawke’s Bay hospitality.

Long, leisurely breakfasts, lunches and dinners, or delicious all-day grazing with a glass of fine wine or cocktail, or beer from our impressive collection – this is how many a fine Hawke’s Bay day or evening is spent.

Open seven days a week, from 7am until 11pm.

We take our responsibility to the environment seriously.  You can find out more about what we do towards being "green" here.
